The Jets just HAVE to get one. They've been in hell and the only offensive HC they've gotten in the current millennium is one that was carried by Peyton Manning's adjustments for years, no one has needed a shakeup more.

I think Vrabel will be fine for the Pats, but it drives me nuts the Krafts will refuse to ever look outside the organization and conduct a real search for a modern-day offensive minded guy. We all know they're gonna phone it in again and it'll be Vrabel/McDaniels. And After the 2023 season I was so ready for a huge refresh with new voices. And they just refuse.

Vrabel def coached well for those useless Titans teams, but it's such an offensive driven league and this whole ground & pound 1970's offense without prime Derrick Henry isn't going to work the same. At least Maye's projections > Tannehill

And if you do find success then your OC is out the door every 2 years.

As a counterpoint it was a whole thing this year that every team was running 2 deep and daring teams to run the ball and it honestly might be worth exploring as a primary focus to open up the passing game even if you don't have Derrick Henry

You just have to make sure you still switch it up and don't go full Slowik with it

 

Yep, and it’s not like you need a Derrick Henry or a Saquon Barkley to make that style of offense work.

 

But there is something to be said for hiring a defensive-minded guy and losing your playcalling OC every couple years if your offense is good

 

Yeah it definitely helps but you can also build the opposite way and get the guards that make a committee threatening

Though I know that is hard to do as well

 

BUT if it's McDaniels doing good (haha) you probably don't have to worry about that since he's undefeated in head coaching toxicity

They also might not even have a choice regardless haha, with Wolf still at the helm I don't trust they can bring in NFL caliber pass catchers to be a day 1 impact. They will by default have to be run heavy but will need an o-line overhaul and Stevenson to figure it out. He regressed this year a ton.
