Brought my dad food shopping and he’s already bought 5 apple pies

 

Gonna go to the library later do you guys need anything

 

Gonna finish my third book of 2025 today or tomorrow

 

How is that possible

 

By reading

 

My librarian already took care of me ;)

 

I’m gonna be annoying and say that I consider audiobooks lesser than actually physically reading

I agree but it’s also better than nothing so idk

I get why people do it for sure

 

Only ever listened to one audiobook. They’re so expensive. Unless you get it through Libby or something.

 

For me, I retain almost nothing from audiobooks. I have to read it or it's just in one ear out the other.

 

Yeah that’s my wife’s preferred method too but to me it’s like, which sounds more impressive

“I read 15 books about the Vietnam war this year”

or

“I listened to 15 audiobooks about the Vietnam war this year while cleaning my house and driving and at the gym and at the office”

 

Reading a physical book just takes more intentionality I guess and I respect that more lol

 

I told my dad to start reading books and he was like me and your mom are going to.

we are going to listen to audiobooks. I was like that’s not the same..

 

My goal is to read ten books this year which isn’t a lot but three of them are Sanderson and those take me a month each

 

Kelsey bought me DisneyWar for Christmas but I haven’t started it yet

 

I've tried audiobooks through libby, but my attention wanders sometimes like it does when listening to podcasts. with a book in my hands, i'm more focused.

I'm not going to deduct points for people who listen to audiobooks tho as it's still a way to consume books.

 

Audiobooks count as reading to me, even though it’s not my preferred method and I enjoy and love the physical reading so much more

 

Also spiffa I am heavily enjoying Way of Kings, I’m so bummed I can’t be reading it right now

 

yeah it sucked me in immediately. I’ll be starting oathbringer (book 3) soon

 

My wife read 50+ books this past year

my mom read like 70 and my SIL like 90 I have no idea how. I read zero. I’m trying to read like 5 this year.

 

my sister asked me if I could take her to Barnes and Noble

she wants to get books and I want to get vinyl
