Presti has been given an incredible amount of leeway/trust over his career with the team

very lucky to have (relatively) good ownership

 

like how many GMs are able to blow the team up and publish an op ed in the local paper saying "hey, you gotta trust me on this"

 

Cavs said the same thing in 2024. Orlando has only improved since both of those series. It's still too early to predict next season though. Still have a draft, trade open season, half a season, trade deadline, and most importantly injuries.

 

I’m an NFL fan. I just don’t care about the draft because it’s boring and I never trust my teams future

 

there's a lot more than 60 players taken in the nfl draft so it makes sense there's a longer runway to that

 

Well that, and the NFL has done a "better" job of turning the NFL Draft into it's own massive money making industry, so they're happy to draw it out as long as possible.

I do too, hence the quotes, but it's def a thing. Like people fly out to the combine. I would venture 40% of NBA fans don't even know there is an NBA Combine haha

I think it’s very fair to remember one of the craziest playoff runs of all time (also think it’s fair to “what if” game 7 due to the Ty injury)

but it’s really crazy that people are saying “I won’t remember OKC winning the title lol!” like what are we doing

Historically great team statistically with the MVP and scoring title winner and multiple All-defense caliber players.

tbf I'd like to just erase this season from my mind forever, but for other reasons, so if that means I forget the OKC title run, that's okay with me

 

The 2023 Heat playoff run was pretty insane too. 8 seed with a gentleman's sweep of the #1 seed in the first round and going up 3-0 on the #2 seed in the conference finals, only to let it get to 3-3 and winning game 7
