it is what it is. people called chuck an underachiever for never winning. it is more bad luck with injuries than anything on him specifically but if giannis ends his career with one ring while projecting to end his career as a top 15ish guy ever, that is underachieving, yes.

I don’t know. Winning one ring in Milwaukee is a pretty massive achievement imo. Similar to the ring LeBron won in Cleveland. The history of the NBA should tell us that winning a title in a market like that should be celebrated way more than it is. I know there’s been a little more parity recently, but in general the league doesn’t crown a diverse crowd of champions. It’s like 4-5 teams dominating since the 80s.

 

You also have to consider all the rule changes that affect how teams operate. I think the reason we’re starting to see more parity is because they’ve made it harder to build the super teams. And if you are successful at building one, it will be impossible to keep it together.
