As punishment, Adam Silver is going to give that pick to the Lakers.

  6. Been out all day but it’s a good trade for Orlando. T-Rex Arms is a good 50/40/90~ guard and immediately helps the Magic

KCP and Cole are shit from a butt

Big fan of Bane, but that does feel like a lot of unprotected firsts for a team that had some very unfortunately injury luck that knocked them down to the play in this year.

I get your point but the East in wide open next year with Tatum out

I think what Pat said is a huge factor in what Orlando had to give up to also dump KCP’s contract. Without that it’s likely a pick or two less

  10. I don’t think it’s crazy to think the Magic (if healthy) could be a top 5 seed in the east next year with the Tatum injury, Dame injury, Joel Embiid and PG constantly being on life alert, and New York having to hire someone from this thread to be the next head coach.

I'm a little worried about that, too. Their bench wasn't great last year, and this move won't help. They're also basically at the 2nd apron in 26-27 with their top 4 guys. I suppose that's the reality of things in the current CBA, though. Also, Weltman's contract is almost done, so I guess he figured push all his chips in, and if it doesn't pan out he's long gone by the time they start hemorrhaging picks to Memphis.

Top 3 seed or trade Banchero to the Lakers for Jaxson Hayes

The timeline too, trade doesn’t work next year so they had to get it done. Memphis probably wasn’t shopping Bane so they had all the leverage.

I think they probably had to throw an extra pick or two in because both KCP and Cole had really bad years last season. Getting off both those deals is pretty good, all things considered.

  22. Miami always striking out with the whale hunting is still surprising to me. I guess it’s just that they don’t have much to offer right now. But they have everything that a player would be attracted to. Great HC, no state tax, great place to live if you’re rich, and probably a top 3 successful franchise the last 20 years. Yet they lost the magic to keep it going.

how much does tax really factor into anyone's decision. they still pay it elsewhere so they only escape it for home games.

people always talk about it for every star and it so rarely makes an impact. if KD goes to a texas team, no state income tax isn't going to be the reason lol
