as almost always, a coward move made by a franchise unwilling to look itself in the mirror regarding its two best players

I think thibs is too stubborn and definitely partially responsible for coming up short but ultimately KAT and Brunson are pretty flawed players and they shelled out a ton of assets for Bridges who was a no show. but the coach is the easiest thing to change so they'll skate by for another year. who are they going to get that is a better coach than Thibs?

Malone is a very good/great coach whose biggest flaw is he's too impatient with young players. Wouldn't really have to worry about that kind of development in New York with how the team is currently constructed. Plus, he's got the perfect personality for NY
