#1 for Paul George… who says no?

This is needed but has me worried. Allen family hasn’t put any money into the team since he passed and Moda Center needs to upgraded. New owner is going to have to put money into the team and could see them moving to Seattle or Vegas instead.

  3. I could see Dallas going either way tbh.

If Kyrie was healthy for start of the season I think the move would be to trade the pick for more of a win-now piece. Not that it’s necessarily the right thing to do, but from Nico’s perspective, that’d be my prediction.

But with Kyrie out, they could view it as an excuse to somewhat retool and build for the following season.

It also might all depend if he goes out to brunch with another GM he’s pals with.

Paul George, Kyrie Irving, and Anthony Davis? The Mavs are gonna win the 2019 NBA Finals with that roster.

Wouldn't be surprised if the dude who got pushed out of the Celtics goes for the Blazers.

  6. they’re keeping the pick, man. the whole thing about luka was them giving away their future for a chance currently. cooper improves the team immediately and fully resets their window as a decent team. there is nothing that they could get that really effects that, giannis included

  7. grossbeck? yeah maybe. also wonder if Cuban does it. you’d know better than me but i thought the grossbeck thing was a weird situation where his dad/family essentially forced him to sell. i wonder if he’d be able to swing it alone if they aren’t involved too

absolutely. it's the no brainer move to draft him. may be a little bit of trauma impacting my thinking process at this point

No the other owner who wanted to buy it. Stephen Pagliuca. He had tried to buy the Nets before which is what caused the rift between them from the get.

Cuban's excuse for selling the Mavs was due to not wanting to have his family go through the headache of running the team when he dies, which felt like a really strange reason. I think he ultimately lost a lot of money compared to what he could've made due to his fan-first policies, especially around ticket prices. I dunno if I could see him throwing his hat back in the ring so quickly considering what a shit show it's been around here for the last bit of time.

  12. ahhh right

  13. that all makes sense and you’re probably right but he also seems livid to no longer be involved. i could see it. probably not though

Wasn't there a scandal with Cuban/the Mavs? I could be misremembering but wasn't he "encouraged/pushed" to sell? Not in the way Sterling was but still

  15. Keeping the pick is obviously the smart thing to do. But so was keeping Luka. So I could see it happening.

He put out a pretty incendiary statement (for business people at least) like a half hour after the Celtics sale was released saying he had a fully funded offer with no venture debt or anything and it was very much like he got screwed.

  17. he sold it but wanted basically a handshake deal to still be involved in ops and the new owners said sure and then basically walked that back once the deal went through since it wasn’t actually in the contract

  18. right i remember that now, i didn’t realize he was already a partial owner of the team though. thought he was an external candidate

Imagine if Flagg decides he'd rather go back to Duke instead.

Cuban had some sexual harassment stuff in the organization floating around for years. Don’t think anything official happened.

must have traded being able to leave quietly and Luka Doncic in exchange for the #1 pick.

  21. The stuff I remember from the Mavs was like general toxic workplace things. I don’t mean that lightly. The stories were pretty bad from what I recall. He was never like, directly accused of any specific thing, but he was overseeing a reportedly terrible workplace culture.

  22. Genuinely think there’s a 0% chance the Mavs fumble the pick despite the Nico is brain dead situation. Let alone trade it. Maybe I’m wrong

Spurs and Sixers are much more likely to make a trade with 2 and 3.

Cuban's fake liberalism and endorsing of Democrats is also hilarious considering who he sold the team too

100% this. I'm so mad he sold it to the people he did. Just gross. But he's also buds with Kevin O'Leary so it all tracks at the end of the day. It sucks because he's done some generally really good things (like his affordable medications venture, and how cheap it was to go to games for over 20 years), but there's just as much bad.

yeah, definitely feels like he has some sellers remorse in recent interviews, but he signed the dotted line.
