    Is NBA Attendance even down?

Here are the league averages for 2024-2025 and here are the league averages from 15 years ago. The Clippers are last in the league at 16,000 per game. 15 years ago, that would have been 10th to last.

Attendance looks pretty strong to me still. I don't know about other arenas in the NBA, but I know Cleveland took out about 1,000 seats in the past few years to put in standing room only bar areas and other event-type sections. (The baseball stadium took out like, 10,000).

Now, if you want to talk NBA ratings, that's a different story. I personally believe ratings are down because way less people have cable these days than 5, 10, 15, 20 years ago and only a select streaming services have local sports networks - and in the end, you aren't really saving much money.

I know it's fine here. Garden is always packed, though it's one of the smaller venues in the league.

    hey there buckeroo!

it might be the ratings thing. probably has to do with streaming and how broken up tv is. have to own a gazillion apps. etc...

Mavs had top average attendance per game but I'm curious if that'll go down after everything. It seemed like it was a lot less full the last few games.

Wolves games I have been to this year have all mostly been close to sell outs (probably 90ish percent or so full) they also run promos periodically selling 200 seats for like 5 to 10 dollars, so that helps

Every Mavs game I’ve watched since the trade, the crowd has seemed pretty good honestly.

(I catch a lot of west coast basketball while waiting up with my newborn lol)

  10. You people keep tagging me! I don’t watch football or basketball. I have no reason to be in here

With Luka being traded, he can’t sign for the max of course but that does that mean whatever his new max is that every team could sign him for that? Obviously not every team has cap space but theoretically is what the Lakers could offer the same that Charlotte or Denver or everyone else could offer?

Yeah I think so. It’s going to come down to where he wants to go.

I'm pretty sure he can go anywhere for the same price.

that’s kind of awesome for him. Idk if he’s a free agent after this year or next year but like, he owes nothing to LA so to have a top 3 player about to enter his prime and be able to go wherever he wants AND seemingly have no fan base mad at him is insane to think about. Makes the whole situation just that much more bizarre and unique.

It's why I think it's not out of the question he goes to play with Jokic. He has an opt-out after next season, with his contract being done in 26/27 season.

If you can't make more money in LA why not go play with one of your best buds?

I don’t think they do the trade if he wasn’t staying

They didn't even talk to him, I think they do the trade regardless. Better chance to keep him versus having to fight out teams, and a year and a half of Luka is worth it alone, they'd have to blow it up anyway.

I think he takes meetings, I also don't think anyone knows at this point because it's so far away. So many things can change. Lakers can do a great job giving him what he wants or they could fuck up their whole team. Jokic could recruit him, a lot of people would probably try. He could lose both arms in the robot wars, who the fuck knows.

I literally said I think he stays. I was just saying I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t float the idea of playing with his close friend that’s all.

Dude has shown he will stick around with some dog water teams and still be successful with them so as long as the Lakers make an attempt with the roster I think he will be happy.

Wtf that’s so annoying. I’m in KS and luckily my mom has Cox Contour so I just log in to my laptop with her account info to watch games. In KS, Cox’s Bally channel gives us Thunder games, Royals games and Timberwolves games
