not sure the insistence that LeBron had to know about this actually checks out as a sure thing. He’s 40, his son is on the team, they’ve done everything he’s wanted, and they nailed the DFS trade and have looked pretty good. Lebron has always made it a priority to give AD his flowers for being their entire defense, and I’m not sure swapping him for Luka makes the lakers a better team while LeBron is playing like this.

My point being, whether LeBron was okay with this or not, you take the deal. You don’t get top 3 players offered up to you on a platter before their prime, ever. I’d be shocked if Pelinka ever hung up the phone to talk to anyone about it if it meant Nico would have an extra two minutes to reconsider the level of GM malpractice he was about to commit
