Listening to a pod with Jason Gallagher and he talked about how when the Thunder blew it up Sam Presti literally wrote an op-ed in The Daily Oklahoman explaining his actions and the Mavs gave their fans “defense wins championships” lol

 

God I hope it wasn’t the bucks

 

Fascinating to consider how all the other GMs are taking this, if it's 'business as usual' and this is just an anomaly or if it truly changes some thinking

I dunno, just a weird trade to try to think of the long-term ramifications in the middle of a season

I think the disdain has more to do with Dallas only getting one pick and less that they got AD

It worries me that Drew’s trade machine proposals just became way more plausible comparatively

 

It's certainly the most petty trade ever

He loses his super max eligiblity (unless he doesn't resign I think) and pays state income tax

His agent will never want to do business with the Mavs again I'd assume

Dallas got better returns getting rid of JFK than they did from Luka

 

I’m a fan of some pretty bad teams but I think this is the most “spit in the face of your fanbase” trade I’ve ever seen. In any sport

Again, I’m not a conspiracy guy, but this stinks of the Adelson’s shedding fan base to move to Vegas and giving Silver his ratings boost by moving another long term superstar to the Lakers. This fucking sucks. The NBA product is fucking cooked beyond repair at this point.

Dallas losing their NBA team would be something

but then they can put one in Austin and make San Antonio mad

 

I know it doesn’t make it any better but I do think AD on that Mavs team is pretty good. I still like that roster. They’ve been keeping their head above water while Luka was out.

The one time I saw an Anthony Davis game in Dallas he was repeatedly stepping on Mavs players and getting booed like crazy

Will never root for him. Don't care how much the Mavs win with him. Not my team

 

its bad for the mavs long term obviously but it’s also bad for them short term. this isn’t a win now move. they made themselves worse now than the team they did the trade with lol. it’s just petty and stupid. there’s no basketball reason to do it that is legitimate
