I mean, the big allure to AZ in this scenario is Chicago taking on all of the cap hit we can and not sending any back lol

My only outside argument for it making sense is that Cam and Foley are solid veterans at positions they need, and neither of them is "old" yet. They're superflous over-expenditures on our team, in my view we already have other young players at those positions who are performing better / a better fit for us schematically (Little and Hamilton)... but for them trading Hopkins to fill out their trenches (and still saving a couple mill in the process) could be a justifiable move?

His performance numbers have declined but I think that has more to do with the way the Cardinals run their offense and the obvious tension there with Kyler. I give it about a 60/40 chance Hop is back to being a 1200 yard receiver for at least two years if he goes to a place where he likes the QB and the offense features him more

 

Yeah, anyone who pays Higgins price for Hop is a fool. Hop and Cooks are kinda a second tier of available WRs

his knee still wasn't fully healthy after a year. At 31 that's concerning. But also I have no clue what you mean by his offense in Arizona, dude could not have been featured more unless Kliff coached like me trying to break a record

 

oh i see my error. in 2021 he was rotated in and out a lot but in 2022 he did get a lot of targets in almost every game he appeared in.

But then I don't know what you mean by not being that high on him because I just looked at his 2022 game logs and he was a beast (for the limited game time due to suspension)

 

he had two excellent games and another one or two good ones but fell off and then that knee injury taking him out at the end is worrisome. i like the trade though, i think that's about what it'll look like. i would've done a conditional third irl but didnt wanna complicate this

 

From the Cardinals perspective they should definitely take anyone who will overpay draft-wise and still take on the whole contract

I am just being Jaguar boy and thinking that if we got THAT far with second-rate receivers, then it's time to take cap risks to get some excellent ones and push for a SB now and hopefully things fall our way in one of the next two years
