I also wanna say I have not studied draft prospects this early with @CarpetElf like I have some seasons. I'm gonna be loudly wrong about prospects sometimes because I haven't watched enough of them, I am doing my research as I go.

I'll try my best not to do my usual "sound like I know what I'm talking about even if I really don't" and in return I ask that everyone acknowledge that my past confident attitudes about my draft opinions do not apply to this season - I'm not trying to write about sports right now because I'm too busy building up my music ambitions instead.

 

long story short I may type paragraphs and fixate on certain strengths / weaknesses that I saw in players based on small sample sizes - take it with a grain of salt, I'm doing that for fun lol. Not gonna pretend I know as much about this draft class as I have about some other ones

So this is kinda the worst case scenario for the Bears. I tried trading down to 2, 3, 4 or 5 but couldn’t find a particularly exciting deal.

I like Bryce Young, but not enough to move on from Fields who finally started to show how the Bears can have a dynamic offense with him.

So, we move on to the most talented player in the draft and add an important piece to our defensive line.

 

But wait, that’s not all!

Chicago has traded pick 151 and a future 3rd round pick to @CarpetElf’s Arizona Cardinals for Deandre Hopkins.

Every young QB needs a WR1 and the Bears have the cap space to absorb the deal no problem. Gimme.

yeah moving on from Fields for Young wouldn't make sense. With proper coaching Fields could be a scarier version of exactly the kind of QB Young is. I wouldn't wanna start over too soon just to get the same exact style of player / end result as I could've had if i managed Fields correctly (only with less elite rushing ability)
