2023 NFL Mock Draft 1.0: Chorus Users! What Do They Know? Do They Know Things? Let's Find Out! Football • Page 24

Discussion in 'Sports Forum' started by CarpetElf, Feb 14, 2023.

  1. Recap of my 1.0 mocks

    Panthers

    CJ Stroud, QB, Ohio State
    Josh Downs, WR, UNC
    Zach Charbonnet, RB, UCLA

    - The most realistic dream scenario for Carolina. All 3 players can make an impact year one.

    Seahawks
    Will Anderson Jr, EDGE, Alabama
    John Michael Schmitz, IOL, Minnesota
    Drew Sanders, LB, Arkansas
    Christopher Smith, S, Georgia
    Andrei Iosivas, WR, Princeton

    - My favorite draft that I did this time. Seattle having two picks in the first two rounds is obviously going to be great for them.

    Titans
    Broderick Jones, OT, Georgia
    Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee
    Henry To’oTo’o, LB, Alabama

    - A little of the boring side but Jones and Hyatt help their offense a ton.

    Packers
Paris Johnson Jr, OT, Ohio State
    Will Levis, QB, Kentucky
    Kayshon Boutte, WR, LSU
Tucker Kraft, TE, South Dakota State

    - Hate on the trade all you want, if Rodgers is dealt I think it'll be closer to the value I got than what has been thrown around on twitter. I think Packers walk away from here with a nice haul on offense.

    Chargers
    Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame
    Noah Sewell, LB, Oregon
    Moro Ojomo, DL, Texas

    - My least favorite draft I did but still exciting to think about Mayer in the Chargers offense.

    Peter Skoronski, OL, Northwestern
    Cam Smith, CB, South Carolina
    Isaiah Foskey, EDGE, Notre Dame
    Karl Brooks, DL, Bowling Green
    Tyjae Spears, RB, Tulane

    Atlanta Falcons

    Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois
    Calijah Kancey, DL, Pittsburgh
    Nathaniel Dell, WR, Houston

    Washington Commanders

    Dalton Kincaid, TE, Utah
    Steve Avila, IOL, TCU

  5. Night Channels

    Trusted

    New York Jets

    Brian Branch - S - Alabama
Joe Tippmann - IOL - Wisconson
Tuli Tuipolotu - DL - USC

Three starters, but not a lot of flash in rounds two or three. Really couldn't pass up the value of Tuipolotu in the third round. Wish I would've been able to draft a tackle or pass catcher but just the board didn't fall that way.

    New York Giants

Jordan Addison - WR - USC
Luke Musgrave - TE - Oregon State
Tyrique Stevenson - CB - Miami (FL)
Keaton Mitchell - RB - East Carolina

My favorite draft of these three. Three immediate contributors in the passing game and a starting caliber corner.

    New Orleans Saints

Lukas Van Ness - DE - Iowa
Siaki Ika - DT - Baylor
Cedric Tillman - WR - Tennessee

Bulked up the defensive line in a division that will likely be very run heavy. If you can't find a franchise quarterback, find a way to get after your opponent's.

Tillman is underrated right now because of the ankle injury. Solid #2 behind Olave.

This draft doesn’t fall very well for the Jags to address their biggest needs. This is prob just gonna have to be a BPA draft. I do think in the first round I’d be thrilled if we got O’Cyrus Torrance or Nolan Smith because it’s 1) great value 2) players that can aid our long term plans even if we don’t necessarily need them short term

Like, same with Michael Mayer. We don’t NEED another TE if we are resigning Engram but if we see him as BPA why not add another good weapon? Doug ran an offense with two beast TEs when he won a ring in Philly so I have no doubt he’d maximize that talent. Mayer also brings better blocking and another big body to our offense which is something this year’s undersized receiving class can’t really do.

And then when we have to resign our very talented 2021 class in 2025, it might make sense to have Mayer as an Engram replacement by then

  9. EDGE, nickel, and safety are definitely big needs but yes BPA I agree. That's what I did haha

I don’t think EDGE or safety are big needs at all personally. I’m stoked with Allen/Walker and with Cisco / Rayshawn. Those are all franchise pieces imo

I think receiving weapons and IDL are much bigger concerns.

Looking ahead to the next mocks, how are you guys tracking trades/picks? Is there a site where you can simulate all of this to keep up with it? Or are you just putting it all in notebooks or something

Like I get annoyed trying to go back and forth to the first page to see each pick lol

  13. IDL is less of a concern if we move Travon down, that opens up a spot at EDGE. Safety isn't huge but it was Jammie or a RB at that spot.

Like could we use depth yeah but it’s not our big priority. We have Arden Key at pass rush and third safety is not a premium position

idk if the Jags will actually move Travon inside though. That’s just what I would do with that defense haha.

O’Cyrus is my top option though. He could be better than Bartsch and improve our offense noticeably right away and then save us over $15M per season once we can shed Scherff’s contract

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

    Lions:
    Tyree Wilson
    Christian Gonzalez
    Emmanuel Forbes
    Keion White
    Jartavius Martin

    I’m down with it

I’ll usually just keep a notes app of trades I’ve made. And then I’ll use PFF and force them so I can kinda mock out the next pick from there.
