Carolina Panthers select Zach Charbonnet, RB, UCLA




Charbonnet is a big, powerful runner who makes you work to bring him down. He doesn't have break away speed but I'm not sure he needs it. He is so good at making guys miss in space. His stutter step and cut backs make defenders look silly. Great vision and great lateral movement combined with his size and strength make him one of my favorites in this draft class.

Foreman + Charbonnet = pounding.

Dallas Cowboys select Garrett Williams, CB, Syracuse

Key contributors to the entire roster are at risk of leaving. I personally think they should marry (sign to an extension) Schultz, fuck (franchise tag) Pollard, and kill (cut) Anthony Brown.

Brown’s still good enough to be a CB2 but the Cowboys are angling for defensive dominance. I addressed the departure of LVE with Jack Campbell, and here I address the likely departure of the no longer young Brown with another feisty / twitchy corner to pair with Diggs. It’s a boom bust pick, but at its ceiling, Diggs and Williams could be REAL tough to throw against.

An ACL injury derailed otherwise high draft stock for Williams, but the Cowboys are known for taking chances on players with injury history and other issues. This guy is a cover 3 corner who uses his length and his stop-start acceleration very well to clamp down on usually bread and butter routes (slants / comebacks), but can also mirror in the event he’s hit with a deep concept as well. that sounds perfect for the Cowboys, who aren’t quite Gus Bradley-esque with their cover 3 and like to call man coverage blitzes. Dan Quinn gets him a man that can do both.

i completely forgot about this player. HUGE steal at this point. Bengals front seven is going to be so good and so well rested. Exceptional pass rusher, needs to add some bulk for the next level but his speed rushing package is great and will be an immediately impactful role player.
