With the 51st pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama



The Dolphins had a top 10 offense last year in spite of having a bad rushing attack in general. Enter Jahmyr Gibbs. Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson are fine, but both are free agents and neither are really gamebreakers. The last time the Dolphins spent a day 2 pick on a running back was Kenyan Drake, another former Bama back...its time to finally go back to that well.

 

That worked out well for Miami lol

 

Seattle Seahawks select Christopher Smith, S, Georgia




Another potential year one starter for the Seahawks defense. Smith can play in multiple positions, has good ball skills, shows great pursuit, and lays the wood. Another player perfect for Pete Carroll to mold into a pro-bowler.

Los Angeles Chargers select Noah Sewell, LB, Oregon




This might be a bit of a reach, I don't know, Sewell seems to be falling down the boards. And while I'm no expert, I feel like people are just overthinking it with him. Sewell has been an extremely productive player all throughout his college career. He can play in multiple LB spots - has produced as a MIKE and on the EDGE. Fantastic against the run and plays with an extremely high motor. I think he will probably struggle a bit if caught in a lot of space, but NFL coaches will know to utilize him to minimize this flaw. Sewell is a gamer and I think every team should want a guy like him.

Lions select Keion White, DL Georgia Tech

can’t believe he fell this far. Continue improving the line. Lions walking away with two big improvements to their line, and two potential starters in the secondary, this team would be scary on both sides of the ball.

 

I don't get the Keion hype. This is a good spot for him.

 

Jacksonville Jaguars select Deonte Banks, CB, Maryland

I was torn between a few guys here. Sought some outside judgment where PFF broke the tie. They have him as a top-25 prospect and a nickel at the next level. I agree with the latter but the former is a little rich for me. At this point though, yeah, he can start at nickel day one and we're good to go. He's an excellent athlete who fills our biggest hole. Also @Randall Mentzos and I both get alumni in the first two rounds, that's neat i guess.
