  2. Carolina Panthers select Josh Downs, WR, UNC

Carolina lands another weapon for their new QB CJ Stroud.

Josh Downs is a bit undersized, but he is a phenomenal route runner, insanely quick after the catch, and a consistent big-time, big-moment playmaker. Carolina GM Scott Fitterer has said they want to add a dynamic deep threat and Downs certainly brings that, and more. I'd love to see him and DJ Moore cutting up secondaries together.

    The New Orleans Saints select:

Siaki Ika - Defensive Tackle - Baylor

Space eater. Every IDL that contributed in the regular season for the Saints is a free agent. This is a massive need, filled by a massive prospect.

  5. Tennessee Titans select Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee

Tennessee made a big mistake in trading AJ Brown instead of just paying him. His departure left a massive hole in the offense and made them very one-dimensional. It didn’t help that that their OL fell apart, Tannehill missed time, and their rookie first round pick Treylon Burks struggled. However, I still have very high hopes for Burks. It was not the ideal rookie campaign for him, for all the reasons listed above, as well as his own injuries. I think Burks is a breakout candidate heading into 2023.

With that said, the Titans still need more firepower on offense. Jalin Hyatt would be a great addition and a nice compliment to Burks. He is an explosive player who will be a day one vertical threat. Opposing defense having to account for King Henry will only make it easier for Hyatt to get downfield and make big plays.

Cleveland Browns select Mazi Smith, DT, Michigan

The Browns are in desperate need of help along the defensive line. Smith will be able to be productive in Jim Schwartz's defense hopefully following in long line of great interior DL.

    The New York Jets select:

Joe Tippmann - Center - Wisconsin

Connor McGovern will walk in free agency. He's been a somewhat stable presence at the position for the franchise, but was never really that impactful.

Tippman can be an 8-10 year starter inside at either guard or center (I prefer him at center). He'll partner up with AVT to bolster the interior of the Jets OL.

Excellent fit in a heavy zone scheme.

I almost drafted him for the Browns. If this was post free agency and they get a big body DT I would’ve taken him.

  17. Green Bay Packers select Kayshon Boutte, WR, LSU

The offensive rebuild continues. Last year, the Packers added Christian Watson who has proven to be a nice deep threat and someone who can stretch the field. However, Green Bay's receiving group still needs a lot of work. Boutte is a nice compliment to Watson because he makes his bread in YAC. He's a solid route runner and can be utilized all over the field. Screen passes, short/intermediate routes, plays out of the backfield etc. I think he has round 1 talent but his draft hype is taking a hit due to some off the field stuff. Luckily, I doubt there are very many sex parties in Green Bay.

TDN says the Patriots primary needs are WR, DL & LB. Not including OT in that is reason enough to no longer trust them.

The Patriots select Matthew Bergeron, T, Syracuse.

My hope is this group is more bullish on Wright than the league is considering most mocks have him available for the Pats in the 2nd right now. I doubt it without a trade up. A part of me in hindsight wishes I flipped it and took Broderick Jones first and found a WR in this pick but oh well.

On to Bergeron. Isaiah Wynn sucks ass. He needs to be banished to the XFL. I think Trent Brown bounces back on LT and having an athletic guy on the right side who just needs to develop some on his techniques is a good use of the million bucks we're paying Adrian Klemm.

I knew it was foolish to think he could fall to Pittsburgh.
