Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Lions select Christian Gonzalez, CB Oregon. Feel better addressing the secondary here. It’s in dire need of help, and he can step immediately in and probably be our best corner near immediately.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Bryan Bresee, DL, Clemson

This is probably by far the hardest team to draft for pre-free agency. Their cap is currently a mess (shut up) and here are their pending free agents: WR3, DE, DT, ILB, CB, FS, SS. Not even getting into the back-ups. Recent years have shown they will sign vets for their defensive line but that has led to diminishing returns. I think if the board falls this way, they'll take a chance on the former top recruit.

  17. Seattle Seahawks select John Michael Schmitz, IOL, Minnesota

In the 2022 draft, Seattle hit on both their picks for offensive tackle and it drastically improved their OL. However, the unit is still a work in progress. The Geno era has begun, but in order for it to have some longevity, the offense needs to be built around Kenneth Walker III. John Michael Schmitz is the best interior OL in the draft and he is a menace in the run game. He'd be a huge addition for a young up and coming OL.

  21. Los Angeles Chargers Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame

This is admittedly a bit of a luxury pick, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great pick. Mayer is one of my favorite players in the draft and I think he is a guaranteed stud, especially if he lands on a team with a QB like Justin Herbert. Adding a talent like Mayer will take the Chargers offense from great to the elite level. I'm not sure how you gameplan to stop Herbert, Ekeler, Allen, Williams, and Mayer. Even if the Staley/LaFleur duo flop, they still have an elite group for the next staff.
