Not to mention the revenue from hosting playoff games. That's very material for smaller market teams.

I’m curious how many other ex-players have been both a Manager AND Front Office Executive.

in the NFL when players retire they just all become tv analysts, in MLB players retire and just all get jobs in front offices lol

Apparently they are zeroing in on resigning Monty so I wouldn’t be too upset at that

I also saw the Mets could be players for Monty instead of signing Eduardo Rodriguez

honestly its whatever. for the longest time i just assumed Ohtani would be a Met so i guess i played myself. let him go to the dodgers. he can be part of the first team in MLB history to win 145 games and get swept in the NLDS. as long as he doesnt land on the yankees or another NLEast team its w.e.

Cool another hitter that will have a postseason slump...give me bullpen pitchers that don't walk every other batter they face

Taking a Long Walk. Have Fun.

If the Yankees don't get Soto and Yamamoto, this off season will be a failure. They also probably need at least one more lefty to make it worth it. The only excuse for not getting Soto is if the Padres want too many young guys for the rental.

Also, I'm sure Ohtani probably ends up on the Dodgers, but I also wouldn't be super shocked if he stays an Angel for some reason.
