the WS loss hurts way more for pretty obvious reasons, by the time the 2007 collapse was fully complete it was almost funny. a runaway freight train of ineptitude.

 

I was doubly cheering for the Royals that year because Phillies fans are just not allowed to cheer for the Mets (though I wanted them to beat the Yankees in the subway series lol), but also because I worked at the Royals single A affiliate for a bunch of summers and saw a lot of the star players on that Royals WS team as single A players so that was really cool

 

seeing max scherzer celebrate like an absolute banshee and spray champagne directly down the throats of his teammates as if he did anything to help them in this cause is going to irritate the everliving shit out of me though.

 

how did this grudge against scherzer start

 

Scherzer was pretty good on Monday imo. 3 innings is 3 innings

 

scherzer was good for the rangers this year! Limited innings due to injury but the 45 regular season innings were really good

and the 100 or so for the Mets this season were merely league average, which is still valuable even if not what they were paying for / not to the expected standard

and he was really good for the Mets last year

 

i'm glad i have zero recollection of 1991. Or 1992. Or 1996. Or 1999.

he sucked shit when it mattered last season, and in his shitty performances this season, he always deflected. there were always a million other reasons why things went bad that day. i am certain i am being over dramatic about it, but the bad performances and the way he ran his mouth on his way out the door just left a bad taste in my mouth about him.

 

I know that I watched him pitch for them..but seeing Randy Johnson in a giants uniform is so fucking weird lol
