Bought a fire stick just to be able to use a VPN to watch the Mariners games on MLB.TV. Fuck Root Sports. Ready for the season!

 

look I was going through the schedule and I'd try to get in there for the Yanks series in July to see Judge up close too, but that series (along with all the weekend Cubs ones and opening weekend) are blocked off as "reserved for client needs" grrrr

to be fair Busch did set an all-time regular season attendance record during the Yankees season last year

Going to a Mariner/Yankee game in May! Birthday gift from my dad. So so so so excited.

 

Will do! I did that last year and said fuck it after the price increase a few months ago. It’s just too much for one channel especially since I already get MLB.TV free. Everything I’ve seen on Reddit makes it seem super easy since the Firestick is able to run a VPN directly on it since it has apps for the separate VPN services.

 

good to know, might have to do that. which vpn service do you use? i've tried both nordvpn and express vpn before and neither consistently worked great even just on my mac

 

I used Nordvpn because I already used it for my Mac, which it did alright for what I needed. From what I’ve read online all you need to do is change your zip code in the Firestick settings and then set up your VPN app and it should work. Hopefully it’s fairly simple. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I feel like the dumbest boy in the world but I’ve tried and failed for three years to get dodgers games on mlbtv through a VPN

 

I got the VPN trick to work on my phone a couple of times last year after the late season price drop with ExpressVPN but the consistency isn’t quite there yet to make it my sole means of watching baseball I don’t think.

 

I just did my annual baseball over unders with my brother. Here's my picks this year
