Cora explained everything last night. He had 2 guys available in the pen that were cleared to pitch (Martin and Kenley). If you put one of them in the game at that point the other would have to pitch the next 3 innings.

He was in a no win/bad situation, that’s why Barraclough was even called up for the game. They needed a guy that could throw multiple innings. It just happened that he didn’t have anything yesterday and got shelled. Once the game got out of hand why take him out and put one of their best RPers in a game where they are getting beat up.

The Sox have had 14 straight games without a day off and their SPers outside of Bello aren’t going deep into games. The Sox pen has pitched the 4th most innings in baseball and 2nd most since the All Star Game. It’s just a mix of a brutal schedule, injuries and SPers not pitching deep into games.

 

Didn't that happen for like 4-5 seasons haha.
