Just popping in to say Jamie Moyer was a national treasure and I wish there were more crafty AF pitchers like him around. It was so fun as a Phillies fan watching Hamels and Cliff Lee and whoever else (Pedro!)pounding 94 MPH fastballs and cutters in there and then here comes Moyer to chuck 80-85MPH junk in there all game. Yeah he'd get hit sometimes obviously but other times it was clear that hitters had no idea how to wait on his stuff. When his location was on, he was able to get so many called strikes or weak balls in play.

Still kinda pissed he got hurt at the end of the 09 season, he coulda been a difference maker out of the pen in the WS against the Yankees.

Don't recreate the scene, or reinvent the meanings Supporter

He worked slow and threw slow slow, but I was mostly speaking to the former. I watched him for years bc he had a long stint with Seattle. I respect the 2010 inning and don’t have data to back it up, but he worked undeniably slow. It was always a talking point on the broadcasts or people making comments at the game about how long he’s taking. All of that said, he was an impressive pitcher that had a long career. Respect for figuring it out without velocity in that era.

There are certain athletes you wish would have never gotten hurt to see just how good they would have been. He’s definitely one of them. I honestly forgot he was still playing until this post.
