Effectively Wild is the best baseball podcast but I understand how it could be daunting if you’re new to the sport

I recommend Baseball Bar B Cast for what you’re looking for. I think it’s pretty accessible and the guys have good chemistry because they’ve been doing it for like a decade even though they’re pretty young. They usually focus on a few big current team/player/league storylines per episode and have a few episodes per week. They also have a fair amount of clubhouse access/player interviews so that might go to explaining “why teams work well together” like you said. Hope that helps!
