Heat and New York Giants are the only non-regional teams I’m a fan of. Heat simply because the Magic are busts and rightfully cursed by Shaq. The Giants because of my well established fandom of the Eli Manning led Giants that has turned me into a fan for life, though I’m a Bucs fan primarily.

So Tampa Bay forever baby, even when I hope to escape to a place with better climate resiliency and fewer guns in the near future.

only non local team I support is Liverpool FC but that’s just life as an American watching English soccer. Only other potential non local sporting interest is Wisconsin Badgers due to undergrad but tbh I don’t keep up with anything from there

But I’m also not really a Cubs or Sox fan. I have hope the Cubs might recapture my fandom but doesn’t seem likely anytime soon

don’t care about the Bears or Bulls at all. I’ve never liked football and I was technically alive for the Michael Jordan years but I was a baby or very young child for the duration. I liked the Blackhawks during the dynasty but haven’t kept up with them at all and the org seems pretty rotten with the sexual assault coverup

the local team I care about the most is probably the Chicago Red Stars, the NWSL team. I want to make it to more games this season

I’m at a stage with baseball where I mostly follow players and tune into games based on match up or narrative. For attending games, the decision is based on price (Sox usually cheaper) and who is in town as the visiting team. I’d like to check off all the current great players to be able to say that I’ve seen so and so play

 

Barves - Have the vaguest memory of 91 bc I was just 4 but also you aren’t allowed to be from here and like another team so.

Georgia Tech - I was a contrarian as a small child growing up just east of Atlanta (and I suppose I have remained so. THWg)

Hawks - live look at me creeping the NBA Thread a couple of years ago while slowly getting back into basketball and seeing that everyone hates them:



Bills - My first “internet friend” lives in Buffalo and ETID was my favorite band so I’ve been casually following them for a minute but since my father Josh Allen arrived I’ve gotten fully on the bandwagon like an asshole.

Don’t watch soccer or hockey really but I would probably root for the Predators? Idk

 

Only non regional team I ever rooted for was NBA with the Magic in the Shaq/Penny days and then it was basically wherever Ray Allen was (at least that was regional for a few years lol)

Otherwise Yankees/Giants/UConn, don't care about hockey or soccer

 

Red Sox and Dolphins for me. Don’t really care about hockey or basketball but I guess would root for the Celtics and Bruins.

Growing up when I did follow the NBA I liked the Bulls (because of MJ), Hornets (Larry Johnson and Zo) and Magic (because of Shaq and Penny). Hockey I would pretty much root for a new team each year depending on what jersey I liked. I think I rooted for the Sharks, Penguins, Rangers, Canadians and Avalanche at certain times.

 

Cards and Blues are my two true teams. I loosely root for the Bears after the rams left and I married into a Chicago home.

 

All Philly teams, baby. Although IDGAF about hockey at all so it’s fine the Flyers stink. Hockey is for replicants

If you think you’ve met the person with the most random sports allegiances you haven’t: it’s my friend who’s Dodgers/Jaguars/Rockets/Blues. Military family, he’s lived in like 15 states and 5 countries

Also I had a Penny Hardaway Dream Team jersey but never really cared about the Magic and then like 5 Brett Favre jerseys/Green Bay bed linens which was very conflicting for 8 year old uga hating me.
