It definitely feels quick but, i think a lot of that is because we are mostly seeing pitchers get tommy john. Could pitchers have taken at bats 6mos post surgery? Maybe? But theyd never consider trying it. If he can swing a bat with full power and then play 1st base, yea hes comin back. They need him.
