2023 Fantasy Football Thread

A thread for general fantasy football discussion for the upcoming year.

 

I uhh....may have gone a little overboard on the magazines this year. I got overly excited seeing so many after having a harder time finding some last year. I always grab the Fantasy Football index and Lindy's usually, but this year ESPN, The Athletic, and Rotoworld all put em out as well. Also grabbed a few others I've grabbed in years passed, and a couple of new ones this year.

I know almost all of it is available on their websites, but I've always liked having the magazines to read.

 

so in my big $$ league, we get two keepers, based on where they were drafted last year. One 4th-9th round, one 10th-last.

I have Goedert in the 7th so that is locked in, but my 2nd one I don't have great options. I was all aboard the Burks (in the 10th) train before Hopkins signed there....now not so sure. Though, I feel like that late of a pick its kind of a crapshoot anyways.

 

Yeah Burks in the 10th wouldn’t be crazy. What are your other options?

 

nothing too great...I may also try and trade a 10th for Dotson instead

 

Dotson for a 10th might be worth it. Aslo worth paying attention to Foreman and the Miami backfield for JWJ

 

man, I am really debating keeping Lamar in the 5th over Goedert in the 7th.....

 

The price on QBs seems to be super high this year after last years clusterfuck

I’m gonna have some harder decisions than I anticipated in two of my keeper leagues. One of them the keepers take the 4th and 5th round picks no matter what, and I’m choosing between Fields, Pierce, Goedert, and possibly Z. white if the Jacobs holdout endures

 

Would you rather keep Lamar for a 5th or Pacheco for a 9th if possible?

 

Got Lawrence in the 14th locked in & ready for this weekend.

 

I got Amon-Ra as a 3rd round keeper, and I have the 2nd overall pick. Been running some mocks with Jamarr Chase at 2 instead of CMC. Definitely interesting...

 

Been doing an NFFC best ball draft for a week or so now. Went RB-QB rounds 1 and 2 and man does it make me, a WR in the first round or two guy since before it became cool, feel so unsure about my roster haha

but we’re only 12 rounds in, 22 more to go

 

This year feels like the biggest “WR heavy year” in a while with the RB position being such a disaster.

I would prefer to just take sure fire WR’s at the top and take chances on the mid round RB’s later.

 

Normally I’m all in on that idea but in best ball with 34 roster spots, QBs and RBs are at such a premium. I did my first one last year and punted on QB like I usually do and ended up with complete slop. The way the board fell it just made sense to take who I took (CMC and Hurts).

it’s expensive but I want to do one more team where I explicitly don’t go QB in round 2 so I can see what my build comes out like haah

 

My mind also can’t comprehend a 34 round BestBall draft strategy lol - I’m talking redraft lol

 

Figure I might as well throw it in here too...have a draft Saturday I can't make. Will pay someone to draft for me (ESPN auction). I won't even hold ya to it being great, just needs to be better than autodraft.

I could never do it if it wasn’t bestball and I had to set lineups. Fuuuuck that. I already do a 16 team league and that shit is brutal haha

 

Alright who am I keeping between Jared Goff and Geno Smith?

 

no round penalty? I'd rather keep Geno

About to have my draft for my main league, a couple people dropped out so we're going down to 10 people. I did a mock and the players that were available late was wild compared to 12-team lol.
