I really thought Brecee would fall to me. Oh well. Steelers take Jack Campbell, LB, Iowa @whitenblue88 Texans pick.
Texans select Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU Don’t love the player, but I love the value and I love the team fit I’d definitely go QB/EDGE in some order with the Texans’ top 2 picks if the NFL thinks like our mocks and this is always the Houston pick
meh they’re pretty good at picking good DTs, Sheldon Rankins and David Onyemata were each good for the Saints for awhile I think Adebawore fits their mindset of get the most disruptive aggressive guy possible regardless of measurements, because their DT position is asked to attack and doesn’t have comparatively high run defense responsibility to most teams
Arizona Cardinals select Will McDonald IV, EDGE, Iowa State McDonald + Cam Thomas could be a sneaky good duo.
Colts select Kelee Ringo, CB, Georgia The Colts sent high ranking officials to Georgia pro day, and that often corresponds better with who they take early than top 30 visits, etc My guess is that Ringo is who they like most from that team, as he projects to fit well in the defense and the need is clearly there with 2022 UDFA Dallis Flowers currently projected to start at an outside CB position
Los Angeles Rams select Cody Mauch, OL, North Dakota State The Rams are a mess and I don't even know where to start tbh. But the OL is always a good place to begin a rebuild. So here ya go. I'm not sure Mauch will actually go this early, but he just feels like a guy for the Rams. Don't ask why. Just my gut talking.
Carolina Panthers select Darnell Washington, TE, Georgia The Panthers TE room is....decent at best. Ian Thomas is a very good blocking TE but not very impactful in the passing attack. Hayden Hurst is a veteran signing who should provide more of a pass catching threat than Thomas, but the position group overall is still underwhelming. Enter Darnell Washington. While he comes with an extremely impressive physical package, his ability as a pass catcher will need some development. I believe Carolina has the staff and roster around him to make that happen at a rather quick rate. In a press conference yesterday, Miles Sanders was asked about the new Panthers offense. He said it was "more similar to Nick Sirianni's offense than Doug Pederson's offense" but "they want to establish the line of scrimmage (run) more than Sirianni's offensive". This comes after other quotes indicating a lot of RPO in the new playbook. So essentially, Philly offense but leaning more towards running and physical style of play. It seems like a great fit for someone like Washington. I think he will thrive in RPO/play-action situations. Also, the picture of Bryce and Darnell standing beside each other will be epic.
