The New England Patriots select Jack Campbell, LB, Iowa Other than Bentley, I can’t even name a patriots LB who plays meaningful non-special teams snaps. And littered throughout the dynasty years are some special linebackers. Bruschi. Mayo. Hightower. I’m hoping Campbell is next. And #54 is even available. I also hate this LB class and have already dealt with WR and OT and don’t find CB as high priority as everyone else considering their success developing that position.
It’s prob a “reach” but he wasn’t making it to 46 and moving up while retaining a 3rd and really selling off my surplus picks made sense to me.
The good thing at least is, whether we trade for a WR or not I think this is the draft path. JSN at 14 feels like wishful thinking. So I got to play a little make believe but still keep it realistic.
I didn't do a write-up for that Chiefs pick but Jones, Karlaftis, Van Ness sounds like a terrifying group for their DL
With the 33rd pick the Houston Texans select WR Quentin Johnston, TCU The Texans never considered Johnston at pick 12, but at 33 the WR feels like very good value for what he could become. While his tape was inconsistent, Johnston does have a good blend of size, length and speed with an above average catch radius. His progression will go a long way in improving the Texans WR corp.
Colts select Cam Smith, CB, South Carolina The Colts’ starting outside corners right now are Isaiah Rodgers and Dallis Flowers. Colts could probably triple dip here and not overdo it.
