Honestly, Vikings would actually be a decent landing spot for him. I had a different pick typed out, then looked at Cousins contract and figured I might as well.
Arden who? Jaguars select Nolan Smith, EDGE, Georgia The Jags could keep trying to mold Travon Walker into a pure edge rusher because of his traits… but, our pass rush was underwhelming last season. I really think we need a third guy to make an impact like we had down the stretch last season. if Nolan fuckin Smith falls to us I don’t know how you don’t put them Georgia boys next to each other on the line, to rebuild that same dominant camaraderie and communication that the champion Bulldogs had. Put Travon inside where his natural skillset makes more sense. Let him be an absolute bully in the B-gap as a blind side 5-tech DE in base 3-4 packages, and then you move him to the 4i DE spot in certain 4-DL nickel / dime packages to push the pocket while still stopping the run. We still have the ability to play with his athleticism on stunts and on zone blitzes, but it’s really his strength and power in the trenches that makes him special. This pick actually addresses 2 positions if we used Travon to fill our need at IDL. Then you’ve got Nolan Smith and Josh Allen coming off the edge, which gives us one of the most athletic edge rusher duos in the league. There are concerns about Smith’s size, but the man ran a damn 4.39 and jumped 41’5” inches - he’s got plenty of explosiveness to go around even if he gained 15 pounds. At worst he’s Odafe Oweh but I think it’s clear Smith plays better run defense and is worth bulking up. At best our DL has two huge 6’6” dudes with a quick first step at 3-4 end (Walker and RRH) AND two very fast EDGE LBs who can cover and know how to use their hands to get backfield. But even in the worst case scenario, Smith can replace Allen if he underwhelms again in his fifth year option and we decide not to extend him.
Imaging @CarpetElf eventually gets complacent enough to just write “Washington Cum” in the first post
New York Giants select Dalton Kincaid, TE, Utah Bellinger is nice and all but Kincaid is the best weapon available and the Giants desperately need it.
The Buffalo Bills select: Jalin Hyatt - Wideout - Tennessee Buffalo needs explosive playmakers to contend with Kansas City and Cincinnati. Hyatt gives Buffalo's offense a legitimate deep threat that will open things up for Diggs underneath. Allen has the howitzer arm to take full advantage of Hyatt's skillset.
