Bears select Myles Murphy, EDGE, Clemson. It’s simple. We were gonna take Will Anderson if we stayed at 1. So we take the best Edge now. They never really replaced Mack or Quinn and need to start adding some talent to that defense.
Eagles take OT Peter Skoronski They draft the heir apparent to Lane Johnson, who has said he intends to play for or two more seasons. Depth along the OL is never a bad idea
Tennessee Titans select Paris Johnson Jr, OT, Ohio State Titans have lost too many OL from an already weakened OL and they are stupid if they don't take OL here.
With the 12th pick the Houston Texans select CB Christian Gonzalez, Oregon The Texans did not anticipate Gonzalez being available at #12 but had him as the BPA on their board. While CB is not a glaring need, the potential of pairing Gonzalez with Derek Stingley for years to come was too much to pass up. Gonzalez has elite size-speed with fluidity to match. A potential blue chip defender added to Demeco Ryans defense.
With the 13th pick, the New York Jets select: Darnell Wright - Offensive Tackle - Tennessee This is a safe pick, but Joe Douglas learned his lesson with bad misses in 2020 and 2021. Sometimes it's not worth it to gamble. Wright is my top tackle overall, but I understand that left tackle is a premium position... Mekhi Becton is a wild card and he really always was the typical boom-or-bust tackle prospect. That hasn't worked out for the Jets. Opting for Becton over Wirfs was a significant miss because the Jets have holes at both tackle spots right now. Wright gives this team a surefire right tackle. He held his own against several elite prospects this season and he very rarely gets beat outside, which means he shouldn't need a lot of help from tight ends. This pick solidifies the right side of the OL and allows AVT to slide back into his more natural position of RG.
The Patriots select Broderick Jones, OT, Georgia. Trent Brown is aging. Reiff is on a one year deal. Calvin Austin is a mystery. OT is the #1 need on the offense. Especially with Hopkins and JuJu in the fold.
Green Bay Packers select Jaxon Smith Njigba, WR, Ohio State From the horse's mouth - "they're definitely looking for receivers" Watson looked dope at times, Doubs as well, but JSN gives them a true WR1.
Washington Commanders select Steve Avila, IOL, TCU Martin Mayhew has made it clear he will take who he wants rather than risk them falling. Dotson was a bit of a reach last year. Avila is this year. But they're going after their guy, perception be damned. Avila has a strong argument as the best IOL in the draft. He has great experience at left guard and center, which the Commanders desperately need to upgrade. Protect Howell.
Pittsburgh absolutely runs to the podium to take Joey Porter Jr., CB, Penn State. The reasons are obvious and I won’t be explaining.
