we have been decent for one (1) year, let me be proud we are finally better than the Titans after 10 years of them dominating us.

It’s not like you’ve never boasted about the Patriots dynasty lol

Oh shit it’s actually my turn, my bad, didn’t get tagged and wasn’t following what pick it is. One sec

Jaguars select Joe Tippman, IOL, Wisconsin.

What a uniquely good fit for Doug Pederson’s offense. While not a “improve the Jags right now” pick, this is a forward thinking pick that keeps our left guard position cheap moving forward / gives us flexibility when Scherff is no longer effective. I want to see this offensive line stay seamless and not skip a beat - keep Trevor / Etienne dangerous.

He’s a big blocker with the raw upper body strength to self-correct when caught by surprise with a bull rush, or when asked to handle a nose guard. He’s tall, but well proportioned and knows how to get low. However, he’s also arguably the best zone blocking IOL after Schmintz, with an uncanny ability to stay square against much faster linebackers at the second level and use their momentum against them. I mean look at the perfect form on this pull block:

He has super good feet, has the length and agility to execute reach blocks, and he’s very aware. He graded out well as a pass blocker, and his bigger body and athleticism makes him versatile to play guard in a zone scheme. He’s constantly looking for work downfield, never lost and unable to find somebody to block. This is how you spring a back like Etienne for long gains, you have to have linemen who can MOVE.

In terms of weaknesses, websites say he has a strong base but he could stand to improve his body control in a phone booth. These issues are technique related - apparently scouts have suggested he could be a lot stronger as an inline blocker if he was coached up to better upright-back posture and keeping his hands inside. He is a younger prospect, less years experience than other IOL this draft, so this tracks. But this is why the Jags are a good fit, because we don’t need him to start right now, we need him to start later. I feel like we’d want a high upside specimen to slowly mold into a franchise piece, hence why Ekwonu was in the conversation last year.

We saved a lot of money at RT because we had Walker Little already showing starting talent coming off the bench. Let’s do the same at guard. Bartsch is entering a contract year - I’m thinking we don’t re-sign him cause he’s our weakest link and we’re ALREADY letting guys go to save money for the 2025 offseason. Scherff is injury prone and on the decline- side of his career, but he makes a great veteran mentor to help Tippman learn better technique. Tippman can be our guard of the future, a backup lineman early on who can play any position in a pinch (he’s 6’6”), and may even immediately improve our line as a swing guard, especially if Scherff misses time again.

We got a great “start right now” player in Nolan Smith, but if we want to be a long term contender with Trev and Doug, we gotta start acting like one, and playing chess with some draft picks that plan years ahead rather than the checkers that desperate / bad teams have to play.

  10. Kansas City Chiefs select Cedric Tillman, WR, Tennessee

Picking for the Chiefs is fun because you can basically select anyone and it's a good pick. They're just that well-ran and that good.

Tillman would be a fantastic addition to their offense and is a nice complement to their other receivers. Big-bodied receiver with great athleticism for his size. Big time catch radius and there are countless examples of that being an asset in his game. So good at going up and winning the contested ball. He's also a good/willing open-field blocker. The Chiefs offense is already terrifying in the redzone and Tillman will just make them even better in that area.

Cincinnati Bengals select Tucker Kraft, TE, South Dakota State

Kraft is a lot closer to the top three TEs than people seem to think. Dude is a great athlete, great receiver, and a very good blocker. Patience pays off yet again for the Bengals.

Tippman is already better than Bartch. Only concern would be moving a career center to guard, you don't hear of that happening too often.

With the 62nd overall pick in the CHORUS DOT FM MOCK DRAFT BANANA-RAMA EXTRAVAGANZA, the Philadelphia Eagles select...

    Tyjae Spears, RB, Tulane

    Spears_5605_large_OVnmy.jpeg

While the Eagles did add Rashaad Penny to their RB room, they could afford to add another back due to Penny's extensive injury history, as well as concerns as to whether or not Kenny Gainwell and Boston Scott could shoulder the load in the event of a lengthy absence from Penny. I watched some highloghts. Spears looks electric with the ball in his hands with his elusiveness and ability to break tackles while maintaining his balance. He seems like the kind explosive, big-play runner that can take advantage of the Eagles' offensive line, as well as what Hurts does to manipulate defenders at the snap considering he's a threat to run it himself. While there may be size concerns and if he can handle a large workload, Spears won't have to shoulder such a workload in this offense and this team has already shown in recent seasons that they don't need a big back to have an effective running game.

You can already see him donning the Kelly green.
