I would be fine with that but open to other opinions

  2. SV/H is cool because the way these teams have been with closers, it would be nice to make all relievers sort of relevant. They also help with K/BB and the other stats. I always liked that because I feel like it puts some more strategy in the pitchers you keep in your lineup, especially with only four pickups per week and the high rate of pitching injuries.

I like keeping holds and saves separate. You have the amount of pitching slots just for that. If you limit it to 1 category, then its a category you could just punt. If its separate theres more strategy in making sure you have a good mixture of closers and set up guys.

I'm not against combining it but my 2 cents

  4. I've never played in a SV/H league but it sounds pretty nice to not have to duke it out with every other team in the league for the 20-some players who will get consistent save opportunities throughout the season. I guess it depends on whether you consider the scarcity of closers to be a feature or a bug.

Boy 20-some players might even be optimistic for how many players will get regular save opportunities tbh

Save guys always become available. Most people can have a solid 2 closers and then those who strategize or prioritize will have more if they value the one category.

Theres only so few legit stolen base guys in the league roo these days

IDK man those bigger bases might change everything re SBs (kidding)

I actually would prefer SV/H to be one category. It usually ends up being a luck of the draw for both categories and leads to me punting one of the categories more often than not.

Okay sounds like several in favor of combining SV and H and none strongly opposed so I think we’ll do it. Do want to add another pitcher category or just have one less for pitchers than for hitters?

I say take away one of the hitting categories. Maybe instead of obp and slugging, do ops?

How about we cut rbis or runs instead lol

You can convince me on runs but nah rbi is too much of a classic baseball stat. As flawed as one might find it.

I begrudgingly agree about RBIs honestly. Fantasy isn’t supposed to mirror real life value anyway

Although if anyone wants to do a league where there’s one category and it’s team wide fWAR hmu lol

  15. I agree getting rid of runs is fine. It's really not a stat that makes much sense in fantasy anymore anyway.

Okay so if you have objections to these categories please speak up in the next couple of days:

    >HR, RBI, SB, SO(-), BA, OBP, SLG
    >W, HR(-), ERA, WHIP, K/BB, QS, SV+H

Same for payouts, voice any strong objections to the proposed structure (20$ buy in x 12 teams; 200/20/20) in the next couple of days

My Venmo is @ccollum and last four of phone number are 5186. Ideally we’d collect all dues before the draft this Sun. If you can’t do Venmo for some reason DM me

Money sent. Let’s go! I haven’t followed much this off-season, but that’s not different than any other year.
