I know Dougie is out but feel like losing brunette has hit the devils harder than expected. And obviously injuries.

Maybe that's why they're not firing ruff yet...coach can't control injuries/bad defensive coaching

 

Brunette didn't coach the D, he coached the PP. I think their plan was always to have him take over for Lindy, but after 52 wins a year ago it would be hard to fire him. And then Brunette got another offer.

Obviously injuries are a major part of why they are where they are. All of Jack, Nico, Meier, Hamilton, Siegenthaler, Colin Miller, and Palat have missed or will miss a month or more. So yeah they are probably banking on that as the excuse. The problem is their goaltending is horrid and they get scored on literally every game (I think its 35 of 47 games or something ridiculous). That part of it is on coaching.

 

I'm all for going all in but a 1st for Monahan kinda stings

I liked the addition of Stastny and Hayes better than this one.
