I've been kayaking in the Everglades in early August, so I ain't saying it aint hot as fuck in Florida....BUT...there is something about the mid-Atlantic humidity. It hits different. I don't know how to describe it haha.

With climate change it basically is Florida up this way these days on days like this.

 

Remember though it aint just the humidity it's the dew point. It's "only" 76 here right now after some rain came through, humidity at 82%, but dew point at 70....so gross. 70+ dewpoint is considered "stifling" and it's been above that for like 5 days in a row now haha

Absolutely bonkers to me so many metropolitan Canadians willingly live in a tundra. You don’t have enough fur or store fat properly for that. I would be breaking the lease and moving the minute I had my first -30 windchill day haha. Major nope.

oh yeah we have have one or two weeks of those cold spells where it just sits at -30, but hey with global warming might not have to deal with it soon eh!

 

Yeah, I think a big part of what makes the mid-atlantic (especially the DC area) so shitty is the humidity just never drops, its damn near impossible to keep your house under 50% humidity, and so even like, 72 degree air doesnt feel cool.

Though Im heading to Iowa, home of the 5% humidity winters where you need to walk around with a damn misting bottle not to end up drying out and turning to ash like a Thanos finger snap

First winter I visited my (now) wife's family in Iowa for Xmas, I was there for 8 days, the warmest temperature I saw the entire time was 4 degrees. We drove back home planning to brewery hop, which we quickly bailed on because walking a mile from your hotel to a brewery isnt survivable at -20, but god damn was the walk to 3 Floyds one of the coldest things in my life.
