I like the AC set low but I don’t like cold air blowing directly on me. I know I’m so complicated.

 

I wish I could leave our AC lower but we’re in an old house so the AC is literally running every 5 minutes to keep up with the Florida heat. So we’ve been trying to leave it at 74-76 for now so we don’t have a $1k electric bill every month this summer

 

hell yeah on the elder brother, but the ac can def be lower

our last car was a bmw 4series. It was… fine. I wouldn’t recommend it but I don’t hate it. We traded it in on a Volvo (cx90) which I love and would enthusiastically recommend for anyone who wants to be in that luxury bracket. I would also put the Infiniti (g35) we had over the BMW because they were comparable but the Infiniti was more affordable. BMW over Lexus tho.

 

yeah my apartment now has terrible insulation so if I put the AC below 74 it’s kicking on constantly. I’m used to 68-70 so it sucks.

I drove a BMW for a week when I went to Colorado because enterprise upgraded us for free. Fucking loved driving that thing.

I don't know if other places have this, but PECO in PA has a thing where they average your electric bill over the entire year so you pretty much always know what you're going to pay from month to month

 

I heard you end up paying more or something overall though? Is that a lie?

 

I don't think so? My wife pays the electric bill so I don't know for sure, but she checks it religiously so I feel like we'd know

 

Our utility company offers that but I never thought it was worthwhile. They’ve also introduced something called “Time of use” where you pay a different rate based on the time of day so like 7am-2pm is medium, 2pm-7pm is the highest, and 7pm to 7am is the cheapest. The idea is to get reward people for using less electricity and change their habits but I’ve weighed the pros and cons and if you WFH you pretty much get fucked

I think they readjust it once or twice a year. We just dropped the budget plan last year, since we’re living that solar life now.
