I get that signing Ridley was a risk itself and that he might have already peaked, but overpaying him feels a lot better than going into Trevor's year 4 with even worse receivers than he just struggled with in year 3. Just unserious front office decision making. I'd be fine if we did a good job addressing our other needs, but even if we get a stud WR in round 1, that's at the expense of two other positions we need good starters NOW (DT & CB). And fuck improving our line I guess?

Baalke just loves to create holes by doing everything backwards. Sure, let's overpay a WR3 BEFORE we've signed our best player or our best weapon and then whine about not having enough money. Total clown shit.

If we weren't prepared to pay another receiver even more than Kirk the whole time, then why the fuck did we waste a third round pick trading for a Kirk upgrade to begin with? Just skip all that and address another glaring need!

I would LITERALLY have rather drafted a WR with that third round pick in this deep ass WR class, than rent Calvin Ridley for 1 year just to miss the playoffs

 

Ridley trade ONLY MADE SENSE if we were going to see it through. It's absolutely stupid to see the cap go up $30M in one season but then expect a WR1 who's technically still on his rookie deal to take less than $20M per year.
