that was a terrible deal, high cap hit through the length of it but they can easily get out of it when they want (which is the tradeoff of it though, and shows they werent sold on him when they made the deal)

If the Eagles really needed to move on from Hurts, early in the 2026 offseason would be the most reasonable time to do so. That’s the first offseason they would be able to save more money moving on from him than by cutting/trading him and before guaranteeing a significant portion of his 2027 salary.

But I’m not concerned about needing to potentially move on from him. Not yet at least.

 

I think the Hurts contract is structured perfectly. I don't care about the cap hits in 5 years. He will either be extended by then or gone and the Eagles will be rebuilding.

 

Yep, he’s around this year and next. If they need to pull the plug after 2025, they can do so with ease
