Shameless is great for like 4-5 seasons and then gets really bad.

 

Big cast and looots of sets per episode

You weren’t here but I did change my behavior and approach today. And Matt just got so mad that I don’t agree about things that aren’t even blasphemous to disagree with. For once he’s showing his ass more with bias than I am.

 

Its very bad phases are still watchable. Like it’s a noticeable drop, but it’s not worth turning off. I’m on season 9 now.

 

Won’t catch me caring how much teams pay players because you can structure anything these days to make it work

Maybe the last couple of seasons got pricey, but, early on a bunch of those people were nobodies. William H Macy and maybe Emmy Rossum were making solid money early, but I'd bet the rest of the cast wasnt doing much.

Probably was reasonably cheap for the first 5 seasons and part of why it went downhill is it got expensive to make

I wouldn't be surprised if WHM and Rossum made more than the rest of the starring cast combined. The sets wouldn't kill them in cost. The Chicago portion of the show would though.
