Gabe is a Zay replacement and Wilkins was not on the table. You're fighting strawmen. I'd rather have Josh Allen for the $24 he wanted last year but that's not reality anymore so there's no point in arguing like it is

 

Also, until Trevor’s doing this, no I will not believe he’s better at elevating receivers than Josh Allen

 

We did with Kirk and Engram and it worked out despite this exact reaction which, coincidentally, also ignored both the numbers and the context of the offenses they were coming from

Kirk and Engram were CLEARLY better fliers to take than Gabe Davis what??! And Engram literally cost less. You are being so biased right now it hurts

Kirk also cost 18m and people were freaking out and laughing at us. Engram is also a tight end so yes they do cost less.

Didn't say he did. I said they had the same reaction and were ignoring the same things. Doesn't mean he will be the focal point of the offense, it just means people are reacting emotionally and actually its not hard to make sense of it

You suggested a situation that was not on the table. We were never going after Wilkins so why would I care to argue and get upset over a situation that was never going to happen?

 

Comparing talents that are actually on the market, and the ratio of talent to cost between them, is different than just blindly suggesting shit that isn’t even possible haha

It’s not hard to make sense of why people don’t like it. We got a player I don’t like or think is anywhere near as good as his numbers (clearly I’m not alone, half this thread agrees) for $13M AAV. If we signed him to Zay’s deal and he’s making less than 8 figures then fine, sure, a cheap WR is different from spending solid money on one that might not even be good.

yes, tight ends cost less, but that doesn’t change the fact he added more talent to Trevor’s weapons for less. He was a more efficient approach to the problem if we were gonna use free agency to try to solve it
