We weren't ever in on him so that's not an option really.
Davis is absolutely a good WR3, a very good WR3 even. See what Trevor was doing with Zay? Gabe is far better.
And if Ridley walks now we need a WR in round 1 and then one in 3 or 4 and now we're failing to address other holes in the roster

 

He’s getting much more than Zay was getting though. Is Gabe for that contract the best deal we coulda got? I’m not so sure.

If Ridley walks it’s because we paid Gabe Davis some of the money we should’ve paid Ridley.

I don’t care who we were or weren’t in on when I’m saying what we *should’ve* done with that money instead. I don’t have to frame my offseason opinions around what Baalke is doing

We did that last year. Took a bunch of value guys and FAs and let them fight for WR5 and as it turns out, it did not work. Especially when WRs 1 and 3 went down. Gabe is also an excellent run blocker. I'd 100% rather have Gabe out there than Tim Jones. Tim Jones being on the field, like Agnew, literally signaled to the defense what we were running and to what side.

 

Okay so if we did that instead then Ridley walks cause of that. We have the money to pay Ridley. If signing Gabe puts us over how does paying more than twice that not???

You know darn well we can do better than Tim Jones and Agnew. Weird binary context you’re coming up with here. It’s not either overpay a guy or have scrubs, at least not at that position.

Looked solid for where he was taken yeah but he clearly was not a WR3

We can do better than overpaying Gabe though. I haven’t heard one argument why Gabe is good aside from his numbers and I think Josh Allen is why his numbers are what they are… + the week to week production is extremely unreliable

 

He’s also 4 years younger and put up the same stats Zay did in his healthy year.

Davis was in their plans regardless of what happened with Ridley, they can make it work if he doesn’t get some wild offer from another team.

 

Doubt they’ll pay him the money I think he’s worth, but I’ll levitate if the Eagles sign Curtis Samuel

You haven't heard one argument for why he's good except why he's good. Also again, one of the better run blocking WRs in the league.

The week to week production for all Bills is unreliable, including Diggs. That's how that offense does things. And we should maybe believe Trevor is good enough to elevate a guy too. I mean he elevated Zay who was worse with Josh Allen in the Gabe Davis role.

 

I’d rather have Wilkins if we’re going to risk Ridley walking than try to pretend Gabe Davis is a backup plan and pay him enough to have that role

 

We can assume that based on the very limited play part considering how badly we needed him. And then taking into account us signing another WR, possibly 2, and maybe drafting another??
