Someone made this point, and it's true, though disclaimer: I believe in all 3 qbs, but it's funny that Daniels skyrocket to #2 has happened post him actually doing anything. It didn't happen during his heisman campaign, but rather after the season where he hasn't worked out, weighed in, nothing. Yet he's now disputing a pretty solidified 1/2.

 

For reference, they saved $13m in cap space by releasing Kevin Byard, who had all of one INT and three pass deflections in half a season with the Eagles last year (did not touch the football the first half of the season with the Titans)

There are people who had him higher earlier than that but yeah it was few and far between, certainly different than what it looks like now

Either that, or people are doing that now in reverse with Maye. Again, I believe in all 3 and am drafting whichever is available at 3 in every mock forever. It's just kinda funny.

I think Maye fits more what AVP wants to install, but Alex Van Pelt is not the kinda offensive coordinator I base my draft around. If Daniels is there I take him and tell Van Pelt to figure it the fuck out.

 

Yep. I want Daniels at 3 the most, but will be fine with Maye. And I do not want them making this pick AT ALL considering what an OC who's hardly ever called a game wants to do

My guess, if I wanna pretend to be a New England Dilla for a second, is part of what they like about AVP is he's not as locked into a specific system as other options. They could also get him. Not gonna pretend they had their pick of the litter.

But he brings some flexibility in installing a system based around traits, vs. Nick Caley or something who are still a little green and really know what they know. That would be attractive to me if I was Mayo knowing Maye OR Daniels but not knowing which one.

Honestly Ridley is starting to look like one of the only 'possible' difference makers still available on the offensive side so maybe that should actually be explored now

 

I'm playing as them in Madden now and it's absurdly hard to get anything done in free agency lol
