Okay not trying to extend Jags talk too much but do we really know how "known" of a commodity 2024 Calvin Ridley is?

More than a draft prospect sure, but I'm just not convinced it's as risky as people think it is (playing with Josh Allen the way the Jags have been IS ridiculously risky and having issues with both Ridley and Allen at the end of this is what's bad but in a vacuum I'm not convinced Ridley is as surefire especially after having watched a decent number of their games this year)

I thought Ridley was a pretty good player last year and looked good, even great at times, during his time with the Falcons

I'll take a risk on Ridley over a risk on a second or third round pick every day

 

To me, I just think it's this simple:

If you want the guy, sign the guy. If you don't want the guy, don't sign the guy.

But playing this weird "Well, I want him but let's go ahead and expose him to the open market to save me some draft slots" thing is foolish. Because now you're letting desperate and money drunk teams inflate the contract, or losing him and creating ANOTHER need.

As a Falcons player Ridley was awesome, no denying that. I'm only looking at everything since because I feel like we're too far removed to be considering it now that we've seen he's not that in at least 1 season 2 years removed
