When you take a 6th/7th for a dude, esp. a former 1st round pick, you know who he was going to get released lol

 

Why would they keep him on the roster? He’d only be a 4.9m cap dead hit for them to release him.

why is taking a 6th round flyer on a former 1st round pick a fireable offense for the GM? Isn’t it possible and even likely they don’t like Beathard as a backup for another year?

This is a weird spot for Mac, outside of him being from Jacksonville. I don’t see a QB controversy. He’ll prob be a serviceable backup there for a season.

Way less underclassmen in this year’s draft with NIL deals keeping guys in school. What’s the difference between pick 192 and an UDFA
