a lot of those guys were on the team that drafted them

 

Not gonna lie the military is shitty and evil and I hate it but it did buy my family a (small, modest) boat and it did move us to beautiful coastal regions like Florida, Hawaii, and Maryland

granted we only had a boat in Florida because Jacksonville was mad cheap. But that was some good times going out on the weekends with other family & friends. I really do miss riding down to the Jacksonville landing or to San Marco in the early 2000s when it was popping, or posting up in on some random island in the St John’s river or some springs in Ocala / Palatka and playing water frisbee and renting canoes and cabins and shit there

we did plenty of boat fishing in Black Creek too, that was fun. Sure 70% of Jax area is ugly but the springs and creeks and beaches are nice Florida scenery and nature regardless. I’m pretty sure we took a boat to Jags games sometimes as well and distinctly remember seasons we didn’t have season tickets, but we could see the game on the super screen from the water / would listen to the radio announcers while we cooked out

actually though, the best water experiences were with no boat in Hawaii. 100%. No contest. I’m dying to go back.
