Man, this sucks. I really like Reddick and Sweat as a starting duo. One of the best edge rush duos in the league, but seems more and more likely that one of them isn’t going to be around this year

Would honestly rather see them trade Reddick than Sweat between the two

Imagine signing Russ, then trading away your best WR

I’m gonna keep Posting Through It by adding that, if one of Reddick or Sweat is traded away, I think the Eagles will absolutely be in play for Brian Burns via trade or Bryce Huff in free agency

  17. They’d be down to Pickens, Calvin Austin, *checks notes* uh miles Boykin and dez Fitzpatrick. Just very unserious team building.

Seems like Fangio is more focused on the secondary and no pass rush means the secondary gets toasted. I truly don’t get it, and I know Howie doesn’t wanna pay Reddick but fuck our pass rush will blow

I’m not convinced, at the moment, that Fangio has any say in who is on and off the roster. I mean, unless something has changed in the last year or two, Sirianni doesn’t have final say about the 53-man roster either. It’s Howie’s decision.

I think it’s simply just that their contracts were both coming up at the same time and it was always very possible that they would have to choose between one of the two. Hurts and Brown are getting paid legit money now. They have extensions looming for Smith and Dickerson, with Mailata about a year behind.

Can’t pay everyone while also upgrading at LB, CB (where they already have a ton of money wrapped up in Slay and Bradberry), and safety. I hope they can keep both Reddick and Sweat around, but won’t be surprised if one gets traded this weekend.

They can still sign an edge rusher in free agency to replace them, trade for one, or draft a rookie. A rookie would be my least preferred option considering that Nolan Smith was a borderline zero for them last year. If they’re moving on from Reddick or Sweat, they need a proven dude to replace them and hope Smith can develop as a rotational player.

Moving on from both would be a body blow I’m not prepared for

But don’t worry, Nolan Smith underwent a procedure, we’re good

I’m curious in what aggressive form they would take to replace them

Steelers always draft good WRs but signing Russ and trading Johnson would be stupid.

I think trading for Brian Burns would be the most aggressive move they would make, especially if they somehow got a first back for Reddick or Sweat (I would be surprised if they got a first for either).

Bryce Huff will also, undoubtedly, be a target in free agency:
