Bojangles and everyone who likes it should be ashamed of themselves. Does that chicken look fried properly to you? No, it looks flavorless with soft breading. You can tell by just looking that it’s barely seasoned, not double fried to lock in the crispness. And that’s exactly how it tastes, it’s not going to surprise anybody.

Zaxbys however was pure sauce with no thought in the chicken which was rubbery as all hell

Popeyes is so ridiculously expensive anymore. I know thats kind of everywhere nowadays, but my wife and MIL grabbed it for dinner for the 3 of us a few weeks ago and for 3 meals plus another thing of chicken it was close to $70

 

My stomach won't let me eat Popeyes anymore. It's a tragedy. Wish I was built different

More often than not I get fried chicken from the Korean place nearby

 

I wouldn’t order chicken breast / legs from Zaxby’s if they offered it, for what it’s worth. I think what they do is specifically good for tenders. And yes having good sauces is a big part of it, that’s generally how I want chicken tenders. But on a regular basis for me their chicken comes out dark brown, crispy, and if anything over salted but never under seasoned

 

Everything is just so fucking expensive now, it's exhausting

Most Popeyes locations have location specific deals that are good though.

A lot of em near me will do a 5PC platter for $10, 13 pieces chicken only for $19, and a shrimp tackle box for $5.99 / 3 piece and a biscuit for $7

 

Terrain’s original bassist way back when, went there and that’s why I’ve been to Pittsburgh & the area haha. I met him in DC / he’s from Annapolis but we did the long distance band thing for a bit. Used to drive across mountains to go record demos with him and smoke an absolutely stupid amount of weed in his hookah lol. Goooooood times.
