Also, we cannot forget about the people who do not like Russ behind closed doors! I understand that people may feel similarly about Fields, but we’ve seen enough smoke and fire regarding Russ in the locker room and whatever for years to know that he will rub people the wrong way

People are already calling for Tomlin’s job. Why invite a substantial amount of chaos in their quest for a 9-8 or 10-7 season and a hopeful invitation to the playoffs?

 

How Denver handled the Russ trade and now are getting rid of him with nothing in return is so god damn frustrating.


Anything short of a winning season this year, Denver needs to get rid of George Paton.

Yeah to me it’s, would you deal with off field personality concerns, if it means you can save some money and also avoid giving up a valuable draft pick - something we haven’t been acknowledging about Fields - sure he’s not worth two firsts but two seconds is still a cost that Russell doesn’t carry

far as I can tell, Russell isn’t an abuser or a criminal, he’s just a fuckin dork lmfao. Pittsburgh dealt with Antonio Brown for years, but they hate giving up draft picks for any reason ever. They would rather accumulate COMP picks and draft shitty quarterbacks and subtly micromanage their shitty personalities with those picks lol. To me they’re just not the team that’s gonna shake things all up to trade for Fields.

 

I'm all for Pittsburgh looking under every rock for the QB position, and they currently only have 1 QB under contract right now. So there is gonna be some signings, but I have a hard time believing they would do something splashy like this.

 

What do the bears want for fields? That makes a huge difference on if it’s worth it.

I’m of the opinion that you don’t trade for Fields without the intention to extend him. Year 2+ of acquiring a veteran QB is where you get the value — almost everyone struggles in their first year with a new team. “Trade and see how he does” is an inherently bad strategy setting yourself up to waste a current draft pick and a year of QB carousel

 

with potential trade partners slipping away, it probably won't be much!

 

Denver is still $3 Mill over the cap(aint real) So I would expect more big names getting cut and/or restructuring their contracts. The team is gonna look pretty different this coming season.

 

Broncos are going to be the Rams of last year except without a good QB
