D’Andre Swift was cool! I they have other big needs that they’re going to address in free agency. With cap hits ballooning for Hurts and Brown, extensions looming for Smith and Dickerson, and other players on extensions already (Goedert, Mailata, Lane), I think they’re going to go cheaper at RB.

I know it’s unsurprising to point that out, but I think the Jacobs/Saquon/Henry tier will be out of their range. However, I do think they’ll show some interest in the Swift/Pollard/Ekeler tier. I’d be a fan of bringing Swift back or signing Pollard. I don’t think a DMont-style contract is out of the realm of possibility for them

 

I could tell that Matt was about to dig his heels in so I said “you’re gonna think you know better” because from past experience, he does! He doesn’t usually respect in those moments that I might know something too. So I didn’t feel like re explaining myself when I already just explained why dead money doesn’t work like that

I also wonder if the Eagles will look to possibly trade for a RB who is either falling out of favor or nearing the end of their contract like they’ve done with Jay Ajayi, Jordan Howard, and D’Andre Swift. Guys like Dameon Pierce, Rhamondre Stevenson, and Javonte Williams have my attention

If a committee can be assembled I might prefer that route. RB contracts are weird now though. There's what they're worth, what we think they'll get paid, and what they do get paid which is usually way off from both the first two numbers. If you can go like, Zack Moss + Antonio Gibson I think you're cooking with gas
