Linebackers also definitely have to sprint very long distances to recover when a TE or slot WR gets separation with a quick move.

the field is 53 yards wide, you can run 40 yards just trying to chase a 2 yard drag route and stop it from getting 20 YAC, let alone when your job is to cover Travis Kelce on a corner route

also the 40 actually measures explosiveness more than long speed. You can be “fast” once you get going but still run like a 4.6 cause that first step affects your time a LOT. You have to be fast AND sudden to run a good time

Pickett isn’t good but Fields ain’t the answer. I would hope they wouldn’t give up a ton if they try and get him.

 

Backup QBs go for more than just a 6th. I'm not saying trade a 1st but a high upside young QB, which he objectively is, worth more than a 6th.
