Backstreet Boys way cornier and way less talented imo. *NSYNC were iconic pretty-bois led by elite vocalist Justin Timberlake, their lyrics and vocal delivery was perfectly sassy and of-the-era, and they didn’t overstay their welcome they died in the early 2000s where they BELONGED

  8. I’ll go *NSYNC. JT is an elite concert regardless of what you think of his music.

I mean, I like NSync more myself, but, thats also cause it was JT and 4 backup dancers as a group

edit: Totally thought the original question was "who's better", not a preference thing. Mine is also swayed by having an awful ex-GF who was a gigantic Backstreet Boys fan

JC and Lance Bass were icons too, c’mon. We’re just being revisionist because Justin surpassed his *NSYNC fame and became a pop god when he went solo afterwards lol.

Pitt seems to have a VERY active small venue / pub with live music scene which I think is great and wish every city had, that's so good for local bands. Louisville definitely seems like that too from my research. Baltimore COULD have that but a lot of those small venues and pubs only hire cover bands which is so dumb.

    Thanks a lot man!

    ones you've never heard of:
Build the Scene - actually a website with a list of venues, woops lol
Local 724 - holy fuck that's far no thanks
Oakland Tiny Desk - can't find anything recent, probably shut down
    Howlers - permanently closed
Squirrel Hill Sports Bar - actually the only legit option you haven't heard of haha. Weird it says sports bar but theres a lot of photos of them hosting shows
Sub Alpine - in Turtle Creek, probably not the best option
Green Beacon - def not the best option, 40 minutes outside town
Fallout Shelter - also 30 minutes outside of town

you seem right about everything else, including Black Forge closing and Smiling Moose seemingly no longer doing shows. Thanks for the heads up on these. Thunderbird, Government Center, and Mr. Small's Funhouse definitely seem like the best 3 to target, with Thunderbird probably being a little bigger than us currently since we've never played in Pitt.

Howlers def seemed like they would've been cool if they weren't closed, and Smiling Moose def seemed cool when they had shows. Mr. Roboto comes up a LOT in DIY circles, but I think since they have a "rent the room for cheap" format, that probably helps touring bands make at least a little money playing there. Definitely a weird stage and def also seems weirdly nondescript - like, does that come with a sound guy / is there even decent sound gear there? Do you need a promoter to put together a whole show before you rent the room? etc.
